Apulian trulli represent a typical example of recovered and preserved rural architecture.
The design aim was to build a construction while minimising environmental impact, restoring the trulli using the original techniques, following an energy-saving strategy in the installations and preserving all the tree species present on the land for the construction of the extension. The soul of the project is centred on a centuries-old olive tree, chosen as the hinge between the old and the new. Ancient trulli and a modern extension dialogue with each other through the semi-private outdoor spaces gathered within the surrounding walls. The olive tree, placed in the centre of a patio, becomes almost a sculptural element standing out against the white canvas of the lime walls.

The spaces communicate serenity, intimacy and at the same time surprise with their volumes and colours. The light of Apulia is found in the white lime of the walls, in the colour of the red earth, in the winter sea and in the twisted, fairytale-like trunks of the ancient olive trees.
The colours and textures of the existing context are used in defining the colour palette of the Micro. coverings, reproducing suggestions and evocations belonging to the Apulian landscape.
